Trick Yourself Into Eating Heart-Healthy Nuts By Making Them Taste Like Pizza

Nuts are pretty good on their own, but if handfuls of raw almonds make your mouth bored, consider making them taste like pizza.

To transform plain, boring nuts into pizza nuts, you’ll need olive oil, tomato paste, Parmesan cheese and a whole bunch of spices. (Food 52 recommends basil, oregano, fennel, paprika and crushed red pepper, along with garlic and onion powder, but feel free to play around here.) The nuts are tossed with the oil and paste, roasted at 135C for about 15 minutes, then tossed in a mixture of cheese and all of those tasty spices, along with some croutons if you fancy.

If you are one of those people who has no problem keeping your diet balanced and full of nuts, berries and green things, you probably don’t have to “trick” yourself into eating healthier fare, but I am a slight garbage human and need all the help I can get, so this recipe is quite applicable to my life. (Also, why wouldn’t you want every possible food to taste like pizza?)
