A roasting rack is essential for cooking turkeys, roasts and other large cuts of meat all the way through. If you don’t have one in your kitchen’s arsenal, you can throw one together with some stove grates and aluminium foil.
This video from the America’s Test Kitchen YouTube channel demonstrates a simple way to make a v-rack with a few things you probably already have in your kitchen. Pull two grates from your stove top, wrap them in aluminium foil and poke a few holes through to drain juices.
Now you can roast a chicken, turkey, or… roast with ease. If you don’t have stove grates, aluminium foil can still save the day; just coil it in a figure-eight shape.
