Skip The Filter For More Instagram Likes

Next time you post a photo to Instagram, consider ditching the filter. Social media researcher Dan Zarrella studied 1.5 million photos and found that unfiltered pictures get the most likes. He’s illustrated a handful of related findings on the “science” of Instagram likes in one handy infographic.

In the graphic, Zarrella lists each filter type in order of most to least amount of likes. In addition to unfiltered photos, Valencia, Willow, and Sierra are also pretty popular for garnering likes. According to the graphic, bright photos and desaturated photos are also more likely to get likes. If nothing else, the findings are interesting to look at.
