Gauge Someone’s Impact On Your Life Before Letting Them Drag You Down

It’s easy to get caught up in the moment with a harsh critic. However, if that critic makes little to no impact on your life, don’t let them get under your skin. Ask yourself how much that person has impacted your life before you waste time and energy on their opinion.

Time, energy and emotions are all valuable, and wasting them on the wrong people will stress you out. Focus on the people who influence your life in a positive or otherwise substantial way. If you gauge the person’s role in your life and find it minimal, don’t put too much stock into what they say.

This can be as simple as overlooking the troll to engage in more constructive dialogue with someone else, or disengaging from an argument you really shouldn’t have wasted time entertaining in the first place.
