Rethread A Drawstring With A Safety Pin

Losing the drawstring in your tracksuit pants, hoodie or gym shorts is frustrating because getting it back in — and all the way through — is a pain. With a safety pin, and a little patience, you can once again ensure that your gear will stay on.

This video from Howcast’s YouTube channel explains the steps for getting that string back where it belongs. Attach the safety pin to the end of the string and get that sucker in one of the openings. Once it’s inside, slowly but surely inch the string through the cloth canal and pull it out the other end. If you don’t have a safety pin, you can use a similar method with a paper clip, or you can try rethreading with a straw.
