Lockers provide plenty of storage and a striking industrial look, but we tend to forget about them after high school. Casting director Patti Karnes made an arch out of them for her home workspace.
Not only did the lockers add extra storage, they also saved a lot of space so the office could double as a guest room:
Working from home I had to have a home office, but also needed a guest room. Living in a small space, we needed creative storage solutions. We discovered this metal grey office cubby/coat rack at a consignment shop and knew we had a winner.
When we brought it home, we took out the coat rack, and then cut down a wood desk to fit in the space perfectly. The cubbies on the left are empty, so they are perfect for guest’s accoutrements, and the cubbies on the right store all my home office needs. The couch folds out to a full sized bed and is actually pretty comfy. After finishing the room I realised it was all shades of grey, so we spray painted the filing cabinet lime green. I think it added the punch of colour this room was missing!

Not my cup of tea, it would feel like I’m working in a change room.
A friend if mine has a similar set up, however he covers the lockers in a cork that is usually used for kitchen counters It gave it a much warmer feel and somewhere to pin his project ideas.
