Smartphone buttons have an annoying habit of breaking, but DIY all-star tool Sugru can save the day. All you need is a little bit of Sugru and a cotton bud to get the job done.

The folks over at Sugru share a quick guide to creating new volume buttons for iPhones using their product, and these same methods should work for pretty much any device. You just need to remove the broken button, clean the area with a cotton bud, and then remove the button screws. You can then mould the Sugru into a new button, push the screws inside, and attach your new button to restore volume functionality to your phone.
