If you tug on your shoelaces enough, eventually one of the eyelets is going to snap. Before you throw away a pair of otherwise fine shoes, try to repair it with a little Sugru.
We already know that Sugru is great for repairing shoe laces, but the same principle applies to the eyelets. Apply some of the adhesive to the broken eyelet, then use a small screwdriver to push away the excess so that your shoelace can still move through the hole. After it sets overnight, the shoes should have a new lease on life.
This trick won’t last forever, but it can at least buy you a few weeks or months until you find another pair of shoes you like. For more ideas for using Sugru, check out our our top 10 uses for this handy product.
