Viewster Adds Flash Gordon, New Aussie Content To Streaming Service

The free video streaming service Viewster has bolstered its content library with local programming, including the satirical At Home With Julia. For those that prefer crap-tastic sci-fi serials, the 2007 version of Flash Gordon has also been added to the service.

If you’re looking for a legal way to get free online access to movies and TV shows, Viewster is one way to go about it. The website, which is also available as an app for Android and iOS, provides on-demand video interspersed with occasional adverts.

For its latest content haul, Viewster has added “more than 600 hours” of programming, including local TV shows like At Home With Julia via a new content deal with ABC Commercial Australia.

Geekier readers will probably be more interested in the addition of the SciFi Channel’s Flash Gordon TV show. This is an epically bad series that only lasted for one season — but if you like watching misguided train-wrecks, it’s essential viewing. (Indeed, SFX magazine famously described one episode as “possibly the worst episode of anything, ever.”)

According to Viewster, a range of new “blockbuster American films” will also be added, although no details were given, which is a bit suspicious. The mystery films star “popular Hollywood stars like Ellen Page, Naomi Watts, Ryan Gosling and Zach Galifianakis”, if that helps.
