This Week In Smartphone Software Updates: Telstra, Optus, Vodafone

Samsung Galaxy S III — Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean is now available.

HTC 8X — Windows Phone 8 OS v10211.204 approved, roll-out being handled by Microsoft.

BlackBerry Curve 9360 — OS 7.1 bundle 2039 approved, awaiting distribution from RIM.


Samsung Galaxy S II 4G — Android 4.1 roll-out continuing, full update now available via Samsung Kies.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus — Android 4.1 testing ongoing, approval expected on Christmas Eve.

Sony Xperia U — Android 4.0 approved ahead of schedule, roll-out expected before the end of 2012.


Samsung Galaxy S III — Android 4.1 approved.

HTC One X — Android 4.1 approved.

The Week In Smartphone Software Updates will return in mid-January 2013.

  • Seriously? Galaxy nexus testing on 4.1 ? My kogan bought nexus has been on 4.2.1 for more than a month now. It runs fine on Telstra’s next G network. No testing required then? Nexus doesn’t even have any bloat ware. I don’t understand what Telstra is testing.
