Notif For Android 4.1 Creates Custom, Interactive Notifications

Android (4.1 only): One of the best things about Jelly Bean is its interactive notifications panel, which can include images, lists and other details that weren’t available in previous iterations of Android. Notif can soup it up even more with custom notifications that keep track of notes and reminders.

Notif is free, although there’s a $1 pro version with custom icons also available. Once installed, Notif lets you create any message you want to live in the notifications panel. You can set the notifications to be persistent, so they stick even if you clear them by accident. You get four types of notifications: the default style (just a line of text and a title), images, lists and longer text notifications.

It’s a shame that Notif only works on Jelly Bean, but that’s only because Jelly Bean handles notifications differently. If you want custom notifications in any Android OS, we’ve shown you how to build your own reminder notifications with Tasker, so check that out. If you do have Jelly Bean and want a quick way to see your shopping list and reminders, give Notif a try.
