Inbox Pause Puts Incoming Emails On Hold

Chrome: If you’re tired of incoming emails interrupting or distracting you, there’s now a Gmail extension that holds them at bay. Inbox Pause works exactly as the name suggests: click the pause button and your emails are put on hold until you’re ready.

There are quite a few cases where you might want to put your email on virtual ice. For example, when you’re on holidays and need to resist the urge to check your email, when you’re trying to get work done, or when you don’t want your phone dinging during dinner.

When you install the extension, a big blue pause button will appear in your Gmail interface. Pressing it will move emails you receive to a new label, so you can check emails if you really need to while you have them paused. You can also set up an auto-responder to notify everyone who emails you that your inbox is temporarily paused.

When you unpause your inbox, all of those emails will be moved to your inbox. This handy extension comes from the Boomerang email scheduler developers.
