Australia Gets Updated Windows Phone Store

Windows Phone: The Windows Phone Marketplace is changing its name to the Windows Phone Store, mirroring the approach being taken with Windows 8. The alteration is being rolled out gradually, and unusually Australia is the first market to see the updated design.

While the name is changing to ‘Windows Phone Store’, the main menu option on the Windows Phone site lists it as ‘Apps & Games’. (Presumably, the risk of using a link that said ‘Store’ was that people would think it sold handsets, not software.) The site has also added new categorisations for Top Free and Top Paid apps. The changes will hit phones eventually, but right now are purely on the site.
