Add Google Suggestions To DuckDuckGo In Your Browser’s Search Bar

If streamlined DuckDuckGo is your search engine of choice, this plugin’s for you. The DuckDuckGo + Google Suggest Search Plugin adds Google’s autocomplete suggestions to DuckDuckGo searches in your browser’s search bar.

DuckDuckGo is a Google search engine competitor we’ve highlighted before for its unique features like anonymous searching and “zero-click info”. Now you can combine the power of Google’s suggestions to get DuckDuckGo results.

The plugin offers one-click install for most browsers in three options: Direct (fastest), which sends your keywords directly to Google for suggestions and then performs the searches on DuckDuckGo, Proxied (recommended) which retains the !bangs for your searches, and Encrypted (most secure), which sends queries for suggestions and performs searches over HTTPS.

Once you install the plugin, as you type, suggestions for your search will now be added, a la Google searches. Even cooler: Typing in a math problem will suggest the answer instead.

Note: The plugin didn’t work while testing on Chrome and Firefox on Mac, but did work on Windows. If you have a different experience, let us know.
