Bookmark Bar Switcher Lets You Cycle Through Bookmark Bars

Chrome: While there are a lot of ways to save space in your browser’s constantly space-starved bookmark bar, extension Bookmark Bar Switcher lets you have multiple lists of shortcuts that you can cycle through whenever you want.

Combining bookmarks into folders or shrinking them down to just their favicons are some tried and true methods for making your bookmarks bar a bit easier to manage, but the problem is that they create unecessary clutter. Sure, you can fit more bookmarks on one bar, but you have to click through folders or click on a much smaller space to get where you need to go. Since most of us only need a certain number of bookmarks for any given task, Bookmark Bar Switcher is another great option for managing the sites you frequent.

To manage your bars, just click on the extension’s icon next to the address bar and hit New Bar. You can then add bookmarks to this bar as you would any other, and toggle between them at your convenience — say, having one for play (with Facebook, Twitter and your favourite tech blog bookmarked) and one for work, where you store all your work-related bookmarks. It’s a simple, easy way to get rid of some of the clutter and keep you focused on the task at hand. If that Facebook bookmark isn’t staring at you in the face while you’re doing work, that’s one less temptation to slack off.

Bookmark Bar Switcher is a free download for Chrome. Note that if you sync your bookmarks between computers, there are a few precautions you’ll want to take with this extension — hit the link below for more details.
