Finding A Perfect Work-Life Balance Is Impossible, And That’s OK

Finding A Perfect Work-Life Balance Is Impossible, And That’s OK

We’d all like to think there’s a model of perfect work-life balance: you’re killing it at the office, then continue to be a rockstar when you come home. But that frantic, unbalanced feeling you get when you constantly stumble? That means you’re doing it right.

The School of Life’s video above puts things into perspective nicely: work-life balance is, by nature, like being a jack of all trades. You probably won’t be a complete master of anything, but that’s ok — that means you’ve chosen breadth and variety over perfection. Unless you’re looking to be the next Steve Jobs, life will always be a balancing act, and that’s ok.

That doesn’t mean we can’t strive, but as we all know: perfection is the enemy of the good. Always strive to be better, but don’t get discouraged when you aren’t perfect.
