AppGuru Centralises Cloud Account Management

One of the challenges of an environment where employees use multiple cloud services is how to manage those accounts. AppGuru, a new web-based service from LogMein,, aims to simplify that process by providing a centralised console where IT managers can track, deploy and remove users on different services.

AppGuru can currently manage accounts for four major cloud services: JoinMe and Cubby (both operated by LogMeIn), plus Office 365 and Google Apps for Business. The service aims to add additional features in the future (Evernote and Dropbox would be particularly obvious candidates). AppGuru integrates with Active Directory, which eliminates having to maintain a separate listing of relevant staff. It’s being promoted as “identity as a service”, but I’m not convinced we need another acronym in that category.

AppGuru is currently in a limited preview (you can sign up via the link below). It’s free to use during the trial phase; the final version is likely to charge on a per-user basis for ‘premium’ services (what these are haven’t been defined as yet).
