Unknown Number Of Twitter Accounts Compromised

TechCrunch is reporting that a number of users received an email from Twitter this morning claiming their account was compromised and that they should change their passwords now. Many users are also finding spammy tweets coming from their account that they didn’t send.

A quick search for people tweeting about password problems shows that the issue is fairly widespread, although Twitter has not yet said how many people were affected. With so little information to go on from Twitter, we suggest now is a good time to change your password, revoke access to unused Twitter apps, and make sure you’re using safe security practices.
