Grab 50GB Of Free Storage On Box Via Android

Online storage and sharing service Box is serving up 50GB of free space to all Android users. All you have to do it log in from the Android app, which has been updated with some new features, by 7PM AEST on Saturday March 23.

Last year Box gave iOS users this 50GB upgrade and now Android users get their turn. Here are the instructions from Box's blog:

This promotion ends on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:59pm PST, so grab your free 50GB on Box by following these steps:

1. Visit the Android Marketplace and download Box for Android

2. Log into your account or register for a new one directly from the app

3. Start sharing and collaborating in the cloud

4. (optional but recommended) Tell the world how you'll use your 50GB with the hashtag #Box50GB

Your file upload limit will also be bumped up to 100MB. Your new 50GB total storage space can be accessed from any device (not just Android).

Updates to the Android app include bulk uploading, adding collaborators to a shared folder, leaving comments on files, and additional languages.

While Box doesn't sync your files, 50GB of extra cloud storage could come in quite handy.

This just worked with my existing box account. Once I logged in via my phone I was upgraded to 50GB.

Saweeet...! thanks for the heads up on this guys, should come in very handy

Hi - thanks very much for this !

I set it up and after finding no desktop sync tool am now trying Bitkinex. I didn't know about webDAV till now. If you want an ftp type interface Bitkinex seems to work very well connected to Box.

For webDAV on Box, the server settings I use when I setup Bitkinex are:

    server www.box.net
    sitemap path /dav
    also use (tick) SSL.

    cheers SF

    Server should be w w w . b o x . n e t (no spaces, and with no http)

    path should be /dav

    thanks

Box is one of the services on www.primadesk.com
Grab your 50GB on Box then use Primadesk for drag and drop between storage services.

Just wondering if anyone knows why Box requests a phone number at sign up?
