Thinking of visiting a new city sometime soon? Villy wants to simplify the hotel-hunting process by recommending the best neighbourhoods and hotels, according to your interests.
Currently, the site covers 10 major cities: Bangkok, Barcelona, Berlin, London, Miami, New York, Paris, Rome, San Francisco and Seoul, with Amsterdam and Tokyo coming soon.
To use Villy, just select the things you’d like to do during your trip, your hotel budget and who’s going. Villy then parses that information to offer personalised neighbourhood recommendations, as well as hotels with their Trip Advisor ratings.
You book a hotel through Expedia, Villy’s hotel partner, or you can change your preferences and dates to explore other neighbourhoods.
I tried it for New York, since I’m familiar with the city, and found that the recommendations were appropriate for different scenarios I tried. Sometimes, the site recommended hotels a little outside the budget range I set, but Villy could be a great time saver for your next trip, seeing as travellers visit 38 sites on average before booking a holiday, according to Expedia. Hopefully, they will add more cities quickly to make it even more useful.
