You can get more lemon juice by cutting the lemons lengthwise or rolling them first. But how do you avoid the seeds? Chef Seamus Mullen also suggests cutting lemons into five pieces.
In the video above, he shows how by cutting around the centre of the lemon, you get four pieces that will definitely not have any seeds. The middle piece is the one with the seeds, which you can discard or use for cleaning your microwave.
Admittedly, this method has some wastage but if you’re chopping lemons for a large crowd to use at a party, then your guests will be thankful for the hassle-free way to squeeze a little lemon juice on their fish and chips.
