Personal Nameplate Service Sidengo Leaves Beta

Sidengo already allows you to build personal nameplate sites with multiple pages and links to your Twitter, Facebook and other social accounts at no cost. The last time we mentioned it, the service was in beta, but today Sidengo shed the beta tag, unveiled a new site builder and template designer, added support for even more social services and multimedia sites, and launched Pro accounts for users who want more professional features.

Sidengo’s basic accounts are still completely free, and you can still create free sites where you can tell the world who you are, how to get in touch with you, and where to follow you online. You can also upload PDFs, PowerPoint slides, photos and other documents (like a restaurant menu or a personal resume) so visitors can download it. Sidengo even optimises your site for mobile devices.

Today’s update makes the site builder and other behind-the-scenes site-management tools much easier to use, extends social support to LinkedIn, Vimeo, and integrates YouTube and SoundCloud for podcasts and music. You can also add the RSS feed for your personal site or blog to your Sidengo page, so your latest posts will be displayed on your nameplate site.

Users looking to build a business site can sign up for Pro accounts, starting at $US10 per month, which include the ability to use your own domain with your Sidengo site, the option to remove Sidengo branding from your site, complete integration with your Facebook page and more. You can check out all of the pricing plans and features here.

Sidengo is a great option for people who want an alternative to other popular nameplate sites. Do you use Sidengo? Are the features enough to pull you from a more popular service? Share your thoughts in the comments.
