As a person new to wearing eyeglasses for more than a few hours, I’ve noticed they sometimes get a little uncomfortable. If you have some foam earplugs lying around, however, you can easily solve that problem.Just carefully make an incision on the earplugs with a knife or pair of scissors that cuts at least half-way through (but not all the way. Then you’ll be able to slip them on your eyeglasses where the frame rests on your ears. This can be a lot more comfortable than the hard plastic you’re used to (although it probably looks pretty weird). If your plugs are too thick, you can always trim them down with a pair of scissors. A more comfortable frame might be in order, but for the occasional soreness that eyeglasses can provide earplugs can provide a nice respite.

You can also wrap cello-tape around the bridge, so it rests more comfortably across your nose.

Admittedly I’ve only been wearing glasses for the last year (though since then, I require them pretty much whenever my eyes are open); and really – if your glasses aren’t comfortable, you should go back to your optimitrist. They either haven’t fit them properly for you, or they’ve let you buy an ill fitting pair.

OMG! Or you can get them properly fitted! Go back to your eye doctor and have then readjusted. Unless you don’t ever want to mate, that is.

It’s April 1st again already?
(And did someone get paid to make that image? Did they wonder if it was for a joke?)
Sometimes I buy pants that are either too big or small. The too big ones I tape with plumbers tape up over my shoulders. The too small ones I cut all the way down the sides and then do the same with those.
Seriously… lifehacker bookmark deleted, sadly.

Seriously – speaking as an optometrist – if they’re hurting, they’re not fitted properly, and you should take them back to where you got them to get then adjusted. In Australia most practitioners won’t even charge for the service.

OMG, that rates as the funniest LH post ever!
Chill guys, no one would ever, they wouldn’t, would they?

Just did this for my girlfriends eye glasses, works like a charm. Sits comfortably and doesn’t leave those red indentations on your nose. She’s tried on dozens of eye glasses in the last couple of years. Nothing works as well as this. Thanks lifehacker
