Stick The Landing To Jump From Roof To Roof Safely

Odds are you’ll never need to leap from rooftop to rooftop, but if you do it helps to know the right way to do it. The Art of Manliness shows you how to maximise your chances of survival.

You need a good running start, at least 40-60 feet of runway, and a good strong sprint to the edge. Jump up and out, swinging your arms forward as you leap, and track right to where you’re going to land.

The most important thing is the landing. Straighten your legs and point your toes so you hit on the balls of your feet. Let your knees bend, tuck in your legs, and roll, leading with your shoulder. Tucking and rolling is the most important way to make sure you can get up and keep running instead of breaking your legs on the landing.
