EasySMS Sends Text Messages From Your Android Phone On The Web

Android: No one likes texting on their tiny phone keyboard if they’re right in front of their computer. EasySMS connects to your phone over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB, and lets you send and receive text messges from your web browser.

EasySMS is a free app that makes sending text messages from your computer a cinch. Just start up the app, give it a login name and password, and start the service. Your phone will either need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer, or connected directly via Bluetooth or USB.

Then, just enter the web interface via the address and port EasySMS provides for you, and you’ll see a list of all the SMS threads currently on your phone. Note that you’ll need to enter both the IP address listed in the notification bar and the port number listed in the settings, separated by a colon (i.e. 10.0.1.3:2511). It isn’t the prettiest of all web interfaces, but you can reply or compose new messages, and they’ll all be synced back to your phone for viewing later — which is pretty awesome.

There’s also a $2.81 donate version, which will automatically connect EasySMS on certain wireless networks, as well as let you send SMS messages through apps like ChompSMS or CherrySMS (if you don’t use the default messaging app). Coupled with Android Remote Notifier (as Droid Life recommends in their article below), it’s a pretty great setup for keeping up with your SMS messages at your computer.

EasySMS is a free download for all Android phones.
