If you fight every battle, you’ll die from exhaustion. Sometimes — if not most of the time — we just have to let things go, especially when we’re at work. When you see an injustice, large or small, where do you draw the line?
I used to fight every battle and found it exhausting. While there were some fights I could win, many I’d lose simply because I they were impossible to win or I was fighting for something that ultimately didn’t matter. I still get frustrated every day, usually at little things, but I draw the line by asking myself the following:
- What do I gain by winning? If it’s not much, it’s not worth it.
- What do I lose by winning? Sometimes I lose more than I’d gain.
- What’s the difference between their way and my way? Sometimes there’s really no core difference at all, but on the outside it just seems that way.
What do you do?
