Legislation for mandatory Internet filtering in Australia looms ever closer. Google has posted a summary of its own arguments against the plan, noting that it’s particularly ineffective when dealing with high-volume sites like Twitter, YouTube and Facebook.
While Google isn’t exactly bringing a new perspective to the debate, it’s a good summary that might help persuade your less technically-oriented friends that the whole concept is both technically flawed and a clear threat to open speech. Remember, it’s still not too late to protest against the proposal.
