Huawei Mate 20 Pro Leak Reveals Monster Camera

If you’re not already, you should be paying attention to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. For a few years now Huawei’s flagship smartphones have competed on the level of Samsung and Apple’s more expensive offerings – especially when it comes to photography. Now, the Mate 20 Pro will allegedly lift Huawei’s game even further.

This information comes care of known Huawei leaker Roland Quandt, in a series of images that are supposedly Huawei’s renders of the new phone design.

Notably, it also retains the iPhone-style notch that appeared on the P20 Pro and doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon.

The configuration of the cameras in a square is interesting, with most other phones with multiple cameras arraying them in a horizontal or vertical row. Last year’s Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro both featured dual rear cameras in a vertical arrangement, while the P20 Pro’s three cameras were also vertically stacked.

Little is known about the specifics of the three lenses, but the Leica logo appears once again so we can be reasonably sure they’ll still have a hand in Huawei’s newest phone.

The phone will supposedly come in three colours – black, the blue gradient featured in the thumbnail above and another blue with a pinstripe pattern. These colours are listed by Quandt for the European release, however, so it is unknown whether Australia will get different options.

Huawei is now Australia’s third most popular phone manufacturer, with their market share creeping steadily upwards month by month. If you’re in the market for a new phone sometime soon, the shiny new Mate 20 Pro could be a very real option.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is due to be officially revealed on October 16.
