Bugger me, it's cold. Dragging myself out of bed this morning was an effort worthy of the 12 labours of Hercules. If you're feeling similarly glum and frozen, a trip to Macca's may be in order: it's selling a limited-edition range of spicy sides just for winter.

McDonald's Spicy Chicken McNuggets and Spicy Shaker Fries do exactly what they say on the tin. They're a fiery take on the aforementioned menu items which have been flavoured with chilli powder.

Here's the spicy pitch from Ronald's PR minions:

Made with 100% Australian chicken breast and coated with a crisp and spicy tempura batter, the new Spicy Chicken McNuggets and Spicy Shaker Fries add an extra kick to these classic Macca’s menu items, to heat up the last few weeks of winter. McNuggets lovers can further dial up the heat with Spicy Buffalo dipping sauce or chill out their taste buds with cooling Aioli.

The Spicy Chicken McNuggets and Spicy Shaker Fries are available nationwide from today. If anyone is keen for a taste test, let us know in the comments!

Hopefully these are better than the hot & spicy nugs KFC had for a little while there! They were surprisingly underwhelming. Please feel free to taste these on behalf of the internet at large :).

god damnit. why now. why when im in the middle of trying to lose weight. someone tell me what they taste like so i can live vicariously through the comment section please.

I tried the spicy shaker fries yesterday. As a spice nut, there was barely a burn, but it was quite tasty and salty with a distinct paprika-ish taste- you wouldn't want the seasoning with properly salted fries -the fries I received were less salted than normal probably to make up for the salty seasoning. There was enough seasoning to cover a small serve of fries with a little extra to spare.

I was thinking that the seasoning would go well in a burger patty as well - that'd I'd definitely like.

I had the Spicy Chicken McNuggets today, and they were great. I had Sweet n Sour and Spicy Buffalo sauces, the Buffalo sauce made the nuggets double spicy!
