Get An Eerily Well-Personalised Throwback Playlist On Spotify

Nothing is secret on the internet — we know this. We get Facebook ads for shoes we look at on ASOS and Instagram ads for products we mention on Facebook. The eyes and algorithms are everywhere. Sometimes it’s creepy, sure. But today it’s great, because it means that everyone has a perfect, beautiful Spotify playlist of the songs we loved in high school.

Spotify just launched Your Time Capsule, a personalised playlist for every user. These are “songs to take you back in time to your teenage years. Bring on the memories with 2 hours of iconic throwback tracks — all picked just for you.”

You can find your own eerily accurate trip down nostalgia lane by searching “Your Time Capsule” in Spotify, or by clicking here. Of course, it can’t be perfect. My playlist includes music from 2011, which is neither “throwback” nor anywhere near my teenage years — but it’s mostly radio hits from the mid-’90s and songs I really loved. The Suicide Machines and Del Amitri? I feel so seen. Seen by the spooky algorithm gods, sure — but seen!
