Happy May, money nerds — it’s time for our next challenge. This month, we’re bringing back a classic. We want you to flex your negotiation muscle and start haggling.
Negotiating doesn’t come easy for all of us. It can be intimidating, but half the battle is learning to speak up for yourself in the first place. Haggling is a great way to get used to asking for more money in a low-stakes environment. Even if you don’t feel comfortable haggling the cost of your car or your home, you can practise haggling on things like:
- Garage sale items
- Flea market finds
- Furniture or appliances
- Credit card interest rates
- Pay TV or internet bills
This is a challenge pretty much anyone can join, so who’s in? If you want to haggle together, let us know below, then tell us three things you plan to haggle this month.
