Make Carbonated, Fizzy Fruit In An Esky With Dry Ice

If you’re looking for the perfect snack to bring to a party, this fizzy, carbonated fruit will be a real crowd-pleaser. All you need to make it is some fruit, dry ice and a few other basics.

This carbonation method from the ChefSteps YouTube channel allows you to make a lot of ‘soft fruit’ in one go. Take 500g of dry ice and place it in the bottom of an insulated Esky (not the Styrofoam kind). Then cover the dry ice with a rag so nothing can actually come in contact with it. Place a bunch of watermelon, grapes, oranges, or whatever fruit you like inside, and then seal it with plastic wrap to help trap the gases inside.

After about 12 to 14 hours, you’ll have a whole batch of carbonated fruit that will wow your friends. Just be sure everyone snacks on them fast because the fizziness will only last around 30 minutes after you open the Esky.
