If You Don’t Have Time To Meal Prep, Just Prep The Marinade

Meal planning should be simple, but it’s not always easy. Ideally, you make a big batch of meals on Sunday that last you the entire week. Maybe you have things to do on Sunday. Maybe you just don’t feel like making five to seven days’ worth of meals at once. Here’s an easier option: Prep marinade instead.

Refinery29 suggests this simple idea:

Prepping in advance is a great tip, but if we’re being really honest, committing to a whole night, of prep work isn’t particularly enticing, either. That’s where marinating comes in. It takes five minutes to throw one together, and you’ll be all ready to cook when you come home the next night.

There are a few reasons I think this is a great idea. For one, it doesn’t take up your entire Sunday afternoon. You can find a quick marinade recipe, make a few of them in advance, then set them aside in the fridge. From there, all you have to do is toss in your meat or veggies that morning, then come home and slap them on the stove. Also, whenever I do manage to prepare an entire week’s worth of meals, I’m always tired of eating the same thing by Tuesday. This method gives you a little more variety.
