Gmail’s ‘Undo Send’ Button Graduates From The Experimental Labs

Briefly: Undo send, one of Gmail’s best experimental features, is officially available to all after being a Gmail Labs feature for many years. Just head to Settings > General and scroll down to “Undo Send” to turn it on. [via Gizmodo]

    • Just delays sending for 30 seconds giving you opportunity to cancel. It’s not really ‘undo send’ so much as ‘delay send’.

    • When you click send, it doesn’t send the email immediately — it waits a very short amount of time (10 seconds or so? I forget exactly how long) before sending. That’s usually enough time to shout “Ohshit I forgot to include this info” and stop the send.

So it’s a bit of a misnomer. It doesn’t undo the sending of an email, it just pauses for a while, THEN sends it.

Also, Inbox by Google is free for everyone now, so why aren’t people using that? It’s so much nicer!

      • I tried Inbox, it just didn’t click with me. I can’t pinpoint what it was, but it just didn’t seem as functional as Gmail.
