Store Clothes Seasonally To De-Clutter Packed Wardrobes

If your wardrobe is so packed with clothes that you have trouble finding what you need and removing them wrinkle-free, the answer is surprisingly simple. Store your clothes seasonally — not just warm/cool, but by all four seasons. It’s a fast way to find out what you do and don’t wear, too.

This video from the folks at Apartment Therapy explains the concept. Many of us put our cold weather clothes away when the warm weather comes, but if you don’t have a lot of space, you may leave your clothes in the wadrobe year round. Taking them down and stashing them away may take a little time (you might have to set aside a day to move everything around) but the reward you get is a much tidier, more organised, easier-to-use wardrobe.

Combine this tip with one of our favourites — the old “find out what you actually wear by switching the hangers” trick — and you’re on your way to a clutter-free closet. Bonus; you also wind up donating things you don’t need and keeping the good stuff from getting wrinkled and lost in the shuffle.
