BlackBerry 10.2.1 Update Extends Enterprise Security, Adds FM Radio

BlackBerry 10 may not have set the world on fire, but BlackBerry is continuing to update the platform. The new 10.2.1 release has a redesigned phone interface, enhancements for BlackBerry Enterprise Service mobile device management (MDM), and unlocks the built-in FM radio on Q10, Z30 and Q5 models.

Given BlackBerry’s current emphasis on enterprise clients, the emphasis on those options isn’t surprising. That said, a revamp of the main phone interface is welcome — I’ve always found that a little fiddly on the current model.

The update is being rolled out now, and appears to already be available across Australian carrier networks (check your notifications or look under Software Updates in Settings). It’s around 300MB in size (varying a little between models). Update: turns out that’s just the first part. There’s also another 1GB to download . . .
