Lendthing Keeps Track Of Who Borrowed What

iOS: Lending stuff to friends is a fine and social gesture, but it can be hard to keep track. Lendthing is a simple app that keeps track of who has what, and lets you send SMS reminders to help get everything back.

Hit the big plus button to add a new item, note who you lent it to or from, and the app will keep a running list of who has what. You can tap on an item to mark it returned, or send that person a pre-written SMS reminder to return or request the item. If that person is in your contacts, it will automatically grab their number for you.

It's handy for those of us that lend and borrow like crazy, but we'd love to see other features come to the app — for example, being able to set a location-based reminder would be awesome, so you can remember to get your stuff back the next time you visit. Overall, though, it's a simple way to keep track of where all your stuff is.

Lendthing is a $1.99 download for iOS only.

Thanks for featuring our app! I hope people find it useful. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you're curious you can read about the process of designing Lendthing here:

Hey Shaun love the idea of your App I really need something like this to help me keep track of things I borrow or lend. Thanks.

      Cool app!
I used to have a website for media lending but it died and I could never find the source again. This could be a good replacement.
Just one problem... Any chance for an android app?

If the phone is lost are the lists lost too?

Tabulate for ios is a similar app but it links with facebook and stores data in a remote database so if you lose your iPhone you can just sign in on any other ios device and all your records will be there. Also it updates with anyone else that has the app who you owe/lend money to so your records will always be safe.

and there is an android beta out there to play with. Should be out in a couple of weeks.

    Yeah great idea...
