Wave Alarm For iOS Snoozes When You Wave Your Hand Over The Screen

iOS: Ideally, you wouldn’t need to hit snooze, and you’d jump right out of bed as soon as your alarm went off. For those of us who need those extra five minutes, Wave Alarm is an alarm clock for iOS devices that looks great, wakes you on time, and lets you effectively “hit” the snooze button by waving your hand over your iPhone’s front-facing camera.

My bedside alarm clock is an old Logitech Pure-Fi Dream, which lets me wave my hand over the top to make the alarm stop so I can sleep for another 10 minutes. It’s one of my favourite features, and now iPhone users who use their phone as an alarm clock can get the same feature with Wave Alarm. In addition to the snooze feature, you can always glance at the phone to see the current time, multiple alarm sounds, the ability to wake to the music on your phone, and a weather display that shows you the current conditions before you even get out of bed. Best of all, Wave Alarm is free (and ad-supported) in the iTunes App Store. The full version will remove the ads, support the developer and set you back $1.99 via in-app upgrade.

What’s your favourite alarm clock app for iPhone or iPad?

We still think Nightstand Central is a great app, but Wave Alarm is a fun alternative. Share your alternatives in the comments below.
