Dealhacker: Read 145 Classic Issues Of Nintendo Power Magazine Free Online

If Pokemon GO has taught us anything, it’s that people love geek nostalgia. So today, we’re going to take you on a trip down memory lane — all the way back to the 80s when Nintendo reigned supreme in the gaming world — with 145 archived issues of Nintendo Power Magazine. It’s all free online right now. Here’s where you can read them.

I remember the good old days when dedicated video games magazines were still popular, and that was only in the 90s. In the previous decade, gaming magazines were even bigger and Nintendo Power was the best of the best. It was, however, mainly distributed in the US but its contents were syndicated to equivalent local publications.

Nintendo Power ceased publication a few years back but, thanks to non-profit organisation Internet Archive, the first 145 issues of the magazine are now online and free to view. Featuring game reviews, walkthroughs, cheats, news and previews, the pages sure bring back pleasant memories of a much simpler time in gaming. There’s also the occasional photo that epitomises the 80s, which is kind of fun to see.

If you’re a long-time Nintendo fan, you’ll recognise some of the titles the magazine covered including Mega Man II, Super Mario Bros. III, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, Mortal Kombat II and Goldeneye.

Check out the whole collection over at Internet Archive.
