Just because that fancy washing box in your kitchen is called a dishwasher doesn’t mean that’s the only thing it can wash. You can also clean things like gardening tools and plastic toys with it.
As consumer advice site Clark Howard points out, a lot of plastic or metal objects that can fit in your dishwasher can be safely washed inside. Things like stove knobs, waste baskets, cosmetics brushes and heat register covers could all go for a thorough cleaning and a dishwasher is a worthy candidate for the job.
