At the opening of Google's I/O event, the company showed off their new AI tool. In the demonstration, someone told the Google Assistant they wanted to book an appointment. Google found the hairdresser and then phoned them, holding a natural language conversation with a person to make the appointment and add it to a calendar. The party on the other end of the phone didn't know they were talking to a computer (so we're told). This opens up an interesting future.

This morning Google presented the keynote address at its annual I/O developer conference. It was kind of short compared to some of the marathons we've been subjected to in the past! But there's still plenty for us to praise - and pan.

Is it going to be called Pumpkin Pie or Peppermint Patty? Or how about Popsicle? Well, whatever Google ends up deciding on, if history is any indication, we're not going to know for sure until spring. So to hold us over, why don't we take a look at all the new updates and features Google showed off for Android at I/O 2018?
