Snagging your tights and ruining them is always a let down, but you don’t have to toss those tights in the bin. Instead, turn them into decorative tassels to brighten up your home. Here’s how.

You’ll need a few pairs to make a whole garland, or substitute in other similar materials like thin cotton shirts. Besides tights, grab a yarn needle and yarn or string to attach the finished tassels to. Cut your tights into 23cm sections, scraping fabric from the feet and hip areas. For smaller tassels, make the sections shorter. Cut each tube of fabric open and lay two sections on top of each other. Knot together at one end, then cut strips starting at the bottom and cutting towards the knot. Repeat until all tassels are done. String them together using the yarn needle and yarn. You can customise the tassels with different designs or colours using fabric paint.

Not sure dangling used hosiery across the wall is very, “me” though.
Why not collect those little metal bottle-tops, and nail them upside-down to the floor? This will give the sensation of walking on little metal bottle-tops turned upside-down.
