Getting a great job at a great company isn’t easy, and that means their interview questions are going to be difficult. If you thought the usual interview fare like “tell me about yourself” is tough, wait til you see these.

The report, from Glassdoor, includes real questions you’ll get during interviews at popular companies like Blizzard, Disney, SpaceX, Twitter, Facebook, Apple, and more. For example, a mechanical design engineer hoping to score a gig at Apple might be asked:
“If you are in a boat with a boulder and you drop that boulder into the lake, how does the water level before and after you drop the boulder in the lake compare?”
Or, if you were hoping to be the new Solarwinds administrator at Blizzard Entertainment, you’d have to think outside the box:
“Sell me on one idea, and then sell me on the opposite of that idea.”
The questions all range from “can you solve this problem?” to “we want to get to know you better,” but they’re all pretty surprising. Whether you’re planning to interview for jobs at these companies or not, these questions can open your eyes a bit regarding how you should prepare. You can see all the questions at the link below.

The boulder in the boat is a pretty easy question using primary school science knowledge.
Assuming that the boat is floating and that the boulder sinks to the bottom after you drop it into the lake, the water level of the lake will drop.
only if the density of the rock is higher than the density of water.
or if you asked Sir Bedevere the Wise, perhaps “little tiny rocks” or gravy.
I said that when I wrote “the boulder sinks to the bottom”.
I had these ones for my current job:
* You’re talking to X and you have to convince him that the project is a success and worth pursuing. What do you say? (in science)
* If we were to call to former boss and he had one bad thing to say about you, what would he say? (just a rephrased version of weakness I guess, although it was asked afterwards…)
