Everyone gets curious sometimes — whether you’re wondering if your Facebook friend is on the market, or trying to incriminate a cheating ex, it’s inevitable that you’ve thought about checking your friends’ Tinder status at least once. While the old method for finding friends who use Tinder no longer works, you can now do this from right within the app.
If you were used to using Facebook’s graph search to find “My friends who use Tinder”, the bad news is that this no longer works (though you can still search for “my friends who like Donald Trump” if you’re so inclined).
Aside from this now-defunct solution, Googling may bring up another solution in Swipebuster (formerly Tinderbuster), a website that allows you to put in someone’s name, age, gender and location to see their Tinder profile (if they have one). There’s just one small catch — Swipebuster will charge you for the service. Luckily, if you’re a Tinder user yourself, you can see your active friends right from within the app itself.
All you have to do is make sure your app is updated to the version that introduces Tinder Social, and then tap ‘Start A Group’. It’ll bring up a big list of all your friends who are also using Tinder (well, Tinder Social). Friends can turn off Tinder Social in their version of the app, so you may not be seeing everyone who’s using Tinder, but guaranteed a large number of users won’t bother (or know) to turn off this feature. That being said, if you want to be undiscoverable yourself, all you have to do is jump into settings and toggle Tinder Social off.
If you’re not a Tinder users yourself, or you think someone might have Social turned off, you might have to resort to paying for Swipebuster.
