Tinder is a popular way of organising casual “hook ups” via your phone, which means many people won’t shout from the rooftops that they’re using it. However, because Tinder uses Facebook for its user logins, you can find out if friends are seeking some Tinder action with a simple Graph Search query.
Type ‘My friends who use Tinder’ as a query in Facebook and you’ll see who is (at least in theory) happy to hunt down some “special cuddles”. This only works if Graph Search is enabled for your account. Graph Search is now deployed on all Facebook accounts with US English, but many Aussies use UK English as their setting instead, so it might not be available to you.
Tinder goes to some pains to maintain anonymity: you can only chat with someone else on the service if you each like each other. If nothing else, this is a reminder that nothing is ultimately very anonymous when Facebook is involved. Thanks to SecretStud for the tip!

Also worth noting / asking:
When you first add the app, you can set some privacy settings for who can see what the app posts. This is not the same as who can see that you have the app installed, and I’m not sure if such a thing even exists.
Perhaps don’t link Tinder to your facebook account, or create a second one solely for apps you wouldn’t want your mother to see?
Well Tinder forces you to link your facebook acct in order to create a Tinder acct (to make sure you’re a real person)
Why don’t I have graph search yet? I see all these posts about “graph search released” and “the latest updates to graph search” but cannot find it anywhere. Is it a private beta still? No one seems to mention that in any posts, treating it as if it’s a thing everyone has. Maybe everyone in the world has graph search but me?
That might be why. I signed up for the private beta (so I could see just how damaging the feature could be), so I got it early with my language set to UK English.
Reading helps! I just set my language to US English and BAM! it’s there.
Sweet! Now you can ratchet up the creepiness factor by running searches on people. Find out who at your company is “big on musical theatre” (hint, it’s M5438)
Zero results. Still haven’t found a use for graph search.
At first I have got the advanced search box you can see in the picture on the bottom right. Now I don’t get it anymore. Dos anybody know why?!

Just seeing if my boyfriend is not cheating on Me
Is this still a valid search in Graph search? I have tried it and it doesn’t return the results as described in this page.
