Keep A Cutting Board In Your Bathroom To Balance Out Small Counters

Think cutting boards belong in the kitchen? Expand your mind! And expand your bathroom counter space! By putting a cutting board in the bathroom.

This trick comes from Apartment Therapy: Stash a cutting board in your bathroom – in that unuseable space between the sink and the tub, next to the vanity, or behind your toilet as long as you keep things clean – and, when you need more space than your tiny pedestal sink provides, balance the board on top of the sink.

Instead of precariously balancing your makeup bag on the edge of the sink, you can sturdily balance a cutting board over the sink – even leaving the tap free for use – and plop your stuff on top of that. (A plastic cutting board will be best, since it will be less likely to slip around than wood.) And if you have something hot that you don’t want to set right on plastic, such as a straightening iron, go grab an oven mitt from your kitchen, too.
