Genius! KFC’s Twitter Account Follows Six Herbs And Five Spice Girls

Wow. This has blown my mind

Today I learnt that KFC’s official Twitter account only follows 11 people on Twitter.

It was initially brought to my attention by this tweet:

Those people are incredibly important to the KFC secret recipe. Those people are the eleven secret herbs and spices.

The first five accounts? Geri Horner, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Menalie C and Victoria Beckham.

You’ll remember that these five women were once known as Ginger Spice, Scary Spice, Baby Spice, Sporty Spice and Posh Spice.

They are the five spices.

But what really puts this incredibly clever marketing trick into truly mindblowing territory is the six gentleman they follow.

You’ve got: Herb Scribner, Herb J Wesson Jr, Herb Waters, Herb Dean, Herb Sendek and Herb Alpert.

Athletes, writers, MMA referees.

They are the six herbs.

I’m struggling to deal with the brilliance of this. I can’t stop thinking about it.

This is how you take a pretty standard company social media account and elevate it to genius.
