After a long day at work, you might feel like you’re too tired to tackle passion projects, but they won’t get done otherwise. We’ve offered a few ways to stay productive after your workday, but the “20 minute rule” combines two of them — getting started right away and committing to working on a project for a certain (but reasonable) amount of time.
When you walk in the door, jump right into your personal project for at least 20 minutes. By not allowing yourself downtime to get distracted by Netflix or video games, you’ll be more likely to actually work on your passion projects. Even if you only have the energy to work on something for those first 20 minutes, that’s better than not making any progress at all.
