Outlook.com Adds Clutter Clean-Up Tool, Add-Ins

Microsoft seems very keen on its Clutter tool for automatically filing email right now. Not only is it being added to Office 365, a version of it is also being incorporated into its free Outlook.com web-based email service.

Clutter is being added to Outlook.com as part of a general update that also includes support for add-ins, which are extension-like features (such as the ability to insert Bing Maps or suggest meeting times). The add-in feature was previewed at Microsoft’s Build conference earlier this month. Third-party developers will be able to create add-ins as well, with Uber and PayPal already working on add-ins.

Hit the blog post for details of other Outlook.com updates. Right now those features are only being offered to customers in the Outlook.com Preview program; other users will be able to opt in for them “in the coming weeks”, Microsoft says.
