Developer Salaries To Go Up 10 Per Cent In 2014

Good news, programmers! A recent salary survey suggests that your pay could go up by almost 10 per cent in 2014, though (as usual) it depends on where you live.

In its 2014 salary survey, recruitment consultant Robert Walters singles out IT as an area with good growth potential. In NSW, for instance, salaries for user interface/experience designers will rise by 4.16 per cent, mobile app developers will see a 5 per cent uptick and developers will see a 9.6 per cent increase. (We’ll hazard a guess that the slightly lower figure for mobile is because a lot of that work is done by contractors and thus won’t show up in a study based on annual salaries.)

Overall, Walters is predicting that salaries in Australia will go up by just 1 per cent, so that’s nothing to sneeze at.
